Log of the RONDA and the PALMOSA
Yachting log kept by Captain Henry Victor Hudson for two voyages. The first voyage was made in the RONDA, between 1935 and 1940, starting from Gibraltar and ending in Townsville, Australia, and passing through the Caribbean, North, Central and South America, Polynesia and New Zealand. The second voyage was made in the PALMOSA between 1949 and 1954, starting from England and also ending in Townsville, Australia. The PALMOSA travelled through the Mediterranean, the Caribbean, Central America and Polynesia.
In his log Hudson recounts his meetings with ambassadors and naval officers, which often involved having dinner, sightseeing and playing golf. He also records more routine details, such as navigational data and weather patterns, as well as information on the goods he bought from specialist stores during the voyage.
