Having been informed that Mr Gaslee, Storekeeper at Plymouth, is to be dismissed for a misdemeanour, I pray your favour in recommending me for the post. I have served 16 years in the Navy and 6 years of that time assisting the Storekeeper at Chatham. I am paid £64 per annum (when the King's tax is paid) which is a small reward for long service an hope my prayer will prevail with your honours.
