Some of the press cuttings are glued onto paper. Includes letters from Lieutenant Commander Thomas Turnbull Laurenson printed in various newspapers, and several interviews with Laurenson regarding the loss of HMS POSEIDON and piracy. Also Woosung-Hankow Pilot Association paperwork. Some correspondence including concerning his investiture in 1917. Contains original testimonial from the Management Committee of the China Coast Guard Officer's Guild (1 May 1933) (three copies in LAUR/1/3).

Administrative / biographical background
HMS POSEIDON sank in 1931 off Wei Hei Wei, after being hit by the Chinese freighter SS YUTA.
