In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board

Petition of Godfrey Grauatt, Purser of the BONADVENTURE, who has returned into the victualling office in London in August 1693, 3,000 pieces of beef and pork condemned as not fit to eat and was proved by certificates from the captain and officers, and affidavits of others. The Commissioners of the Victualling refuse to give a receipt, without which he will loose half of the value. I beg the Commissioners of the Navy to weigh this matter and to order the Commissioners of the Victualling to pay my bills and to give receipts for the provisions so that I may expedite the passing of my accounts.
