In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board
Enclosure: [This item appears to have been misfiled as it bears a date in advance of the following item No. 321]. Statement made by James May late Boatswain of the ANNE Pink; Walter Ness, Carpenter; William Johnson, Gunner and Aron Best, Mariner all of the same ship who swear that in December 1693 they they recovered a mast found floating in the water between Gill Kicker Point and Cowes. The mast measured almost ninety-seven feet in length and was twenty-nine inches in diameter; and was taken to [Cales] by Mr Sallaway Master of the CROWN MERCHANT and later sold there for four hundred and fifty dollars.
