In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board

Enclosure: Extract of a letter from Captain Hoskins, 2nd Captain of the ROYAL WILLIAM. Captain Hoskins, having enquired into the circumstances surrounding the grounding of the ROYAL KATHERINE, confirms the depositions of Lieutenant Power and Mr Coatham, Master, that nobody on board the ROYAL WILLIAM heard the Master Attendant's hail from the ROYAL KATHERINE and opines that, given the strength of the wind and the distance between the ships, it was unlikely that they would.
