White Funnel steamers : a photographic legacy /Chris Collard.

Featuring many rare or previously unpublished images from the archives of the Paddle Steamer Preservation Society, this book follows the history of P&A Campbell's paddle steamers that ran up and down the Bristol Channel from the 1880s to the 1950s. The company ran pleasure cruises before World War One and faced off competition from rivals to become beloved by locals. This collection of illustrations takes the reader through the steamers' initial age of popularity, their roles in World War One and World War Two, and the company's economic difficulties in the 1950s.
