The tops of her main and mizzen masts are out of the picture, her lug sails are stowed fore and aft and she has fishing nets hanging over the stern rail to dry. The port number 42HC (there may be further numbers before the 4) is on the stern and above it is a faintly discernible 1262AC. The port side forward is not in the picture.

To the left of the door is a large wardrobe, In the corner by the door are a wash basin, a small desk-cum-dressing table with mirror, and a coat stand. P34555; Looking forward from the stern on the small Kowloon Bay fisher type junk (or sampan) T130H on shore parallel to the water in Kowloon Bay, Hong Kong. Hatches are over the fish hold forward and abaft the mainmast and the lug sails are stowed fore and aft. Two men are working on the starboard side of the deck and a "coolie" type hat is in the right foreground. Negatives numbers P34553 to P34557 inclusive are of the same vessel taken on the same occasion.

P34009; A port bow view, taken from fine off the bow, of a Hong Kong C/B type junk anchored at Singapore. She appears to be a two masted vessel and her lug sails are stowed fore and aft. Her bow is of the horn type with her bulwarks extended forward. She has a boom and mooring ropes extending from her port side.

P34330; The starboard sterns of the Pechili trader type junks 1091 and 3705 moored at Tsingtao. The tops of their mizzen masts and quarter masts are out of the picture, as is everything forward of the mainmast. 3705 has a line out astern and the number 34859 is on a small board under the bulwark rail. A Pechili trader with leeboards is berthed in the left background.

P34500; A port near broadside view, taken from just ahead of the beam, of the Shantung trader type junk 110 under sail at Weihaiwei. She is two masted, has a single lug sail set at each mast and is deeply laden. Her sails have been frequently patched, using different colour materials. Her port number 110 is painted twice on her hull. Negative number P34507 is also of this junk.

P34516; A starboard broadside view of a fully rigged model of the Antung trader type junk number 1938 at Liu Kung Tao. The model has a foremast, a mainmast and two mizzen masts sited to port and starboard at the stern. A lug sail is set on each mast as well as a flying jib, a staysail between the fore and main masts, a spinnaker on an outrigger boom attached to the foremast and a main topsail. Negative number P34517 is a very similar view.

P33937; A close-up of the port bow of a Tongkung type junk moored bow-on to the shore at Singapore at low tide. The photographer is looking aft and to starboard from alongside the bowsprit showing the stem, forefoot and hull completely dried out. The bowsprit has a timber platform under it and the vessel is equipped with two steel anchors which are suspended from a beam abaft the stem.
