An Indian kotia type dhow anchored at Colombo, Ceylonn

A port side view of the fore part of an Indian kotia type dhow anchored at Colombo, Ceylon. The photographer is abreast her bow looking to starboard showing her foresail being set. Small boats are alongside her waist apparently working cargo. The tops of her foremast and her fore yard and everything aft of the foremast are out of the picture. In the background is the passenger/cargo liner Cathay (1925). The photographer was taking passage on the Royal Navy heavy cruiser Cumberland (1926) from Singapore to the U.K. at the time. Negatives numbers P34286 and P34290 to P34295 inclusive are of the same vessel.
