San Francisco (1889)
A 12x10 negative. A starboard side view, taken from ahead of the beam, of the United States Navy protected cruiser San Francisco (1889) at moorings in Gravesend Reach, River Thames. She is in her original light schooner rig. Some of her crew are over the side on bosun's chairs touching up the paintwork of the hull. One of her boats is being rowed shorewards. Tilbury is in the background.
