A 35mm roll film negative. On board the commando carrier Hermes (1953) in Devonport Dockyard in June 1973 towards the end of her conversion from a fixed wing aircraft carrier to a commando carrier. She recommissioned after conversion on 18 August 1973. The photographer is in the main galley and servery on 4 deck between 30 and 39 stations, showing a range of roasting ovens on the right with four milk churns on the deck beside them and control panels on the bulkhead opposite. The end of a plate counter with the roller shutter closed is on the left. The photographer has allocated the number 8 to this location. A vertical format negative.
