        On board the type 81 general purpose frigate HMS Nubian (1960) alongside South Railway Jetty in Portsmouth Dockyard prior to commissioning on 9 October 1962.  The photographer is in the seamen's mess between 78 and 85 stations on 2 deck looking aft and to port from 81 station on the centreline showing stairs leading up to 1 deck on the left and a Nu-Swift fire extinguisher, four spare extinguisher cartridges and a notice board are fixed to the end of a row of kit lockers.  On the right is another row of kit lockers, a cleaning gear locker and a triple tier bunk unit.  A folding table and tubular steel chairs are in the background.  A greatcoat locker, a tea cupboard and a folding table stowage position are against the aft bulkhead.
