        The type 81 general purpose frigate HMS Tartar (1960) in Portsmouth Dockyard between November 1973 and April 1974 during a refit.  The ship is berthed port side to a jetty and the photographer is on the jetty looking to starboard and slightly aft showing the single 4.5 inch Mark 5 Mod 2 gun mount between 77 and 82 stations on the centreline of 1 deck.  The flight deck safety net is hanging down over the bulkhead of the handing room and gun crew shelter.
