On board the United States Navy aircraft carrier Saratoga (1955) while anchored in the Mediterranean. The photographer is on a low sponson on the starboard side forward, looking aft. The forward lift is at flight deck level but the aft lift is at hangar deck level. Both radio aerial spreader masts are lowered to the horizontal position. A boat boom and rope ladder are rigged. One of the ship's motor boats is in the distance heading for the shore.
