Three different types of landing craft at the assault beach during the United States 6th Fleet amphibious warfare exercise Steel Link 1 in the Mediterranean. Nearest the camera approaching the shore are the LCAs PA31-2 and PA31-10 from the attack transport Monrovia (1942). LCU 1467 (1952) from the dock landing ship Lindenwald (1943) is beached and is discharging a M48 Patton tank. ACU2-15, also from the Lindenwald (1943), is beached in the background.
