A starboard side view, taken from abaft the beam, of the Soviet Navy intelligence gathering ship Nakhodka under way in the Norwegian Sea during the NATO exercise Strong Express. All reference works name the vessel Nakhodka but the name on the bridge board is given as Nahodka. The photographer is said to be on board the Royal Navy aircraft carrier Ark Royal (1950) and the Nakhodka is reported as coming to within 300 feet of the carrier. A Royal Navy Leander class frigate is in the background.
