The canal on the north-west side of the island of Slotsholmen at Copenhagen, Denmark, looking north-east. A large number of open fishing boats are in the canal and their pole nets and funnel nets are hanging up to dry. The commercial premises by the side of the canal include the Fiskehusels Restaurant, Bors-Bodega, Carl Bang, Stormvoks and Meva Porcelaen. The equestrian statue of Absalon is on Højbro Plads and the tower and spire of the Sankt Nikolaj Kirke (Church of St Nicholas) is in the background. A vertical format negative.
