Flat bottomed boat like containers are stored on the canal side in the foreground and some open fishing boats are further along the canal. Motor cars are parked facing the canal. Thorvaldsens Museum is on the right of the picture and trams are on the road. The equestrian statue of Absalon is on Højbro Plads by the bridge and beyond it is the Sankt Nikolaj Kirke (St. Nicholas Church).
