The Little Mermaid Sculpture on the Langelinie at Copenhagen, Denmark. This is a bronze statue by Edvard Eriksen, depicting a mermaid, based on the character in one of Hans Christian Andersen's fairy tales. The sculpture is displayed on a rock by the waterside at the Langelinie promenade and was erected in 1913. In the background is a Blue Star Line cargo liner alongside the fitting out berth of the Burmeister & Wain shipyard. She is seen from off her port beam and is one of California Star (1938), Canadian Star (1939) or Columbia Star (1939). A vertical format negative.
