The Hochdonn Railway Bridge viaduct on the Kiel Canal, Germany

The Hochdonn Railway Bridge viaduct on the Kiel Canal. The photographer is on board a passenger cruise ship transiting the canal and is looking to the east side showing how the viaduct dominates the scene. A windmill is close to one of the steel lattice supports. The Hochdonn vehicle and pedestrian ferry is alongside the slipway on the right. In the foreground a crane lighter is alongside the canal bank and the number 19 is on a sign on the roadway in front of a large house. The ship is almost certainly the Cunard Line's Lancastria (1922) because the LX negative code was allocated to her by Waterline.
