The Gatun Locks on the Panama Canal. The photographer is looking north from the east side of the upper chamber of the west lock showing a mobile crane on the central wall. The water in the centre chambers of both locks is at slightly different levels. A ship is approaching the west locks from the Atlantic. The negative is slightly out of focus.
