On board the Swedish passenger cruise ship Gripsholm (1925) in the Gatun Locks on the Panama Canal. The photographer is on the port side of the aft end of the upper promenade deck looking aft (north) showing the ship's chief officer on the aft navigating bridge wing as the ship is leaving the east upper chamber to pass into Gatun Lake heading south. The ship's propellers are turning but she is still connected to mule number 646 on the top of the lock. A vertical format negative.
