Gatun Locks on the Panama Canal. The photographer is on the east side of the locks abreast the east centre chamber looking south showing the gates of centre chamber closed and the guard chain in position. A lighthouse is on a platform abreast the upper chamber on the central wall separating the east from the west sets of chambers.
