Botafogo Cove, Morro Da Urca and Babylonia Hill at Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The photographer is looking south-east from an elevated vantage point showing the Church of the Immaculate Conception (Imaculada Conceicao) and the adjoining College in the left foreground and on the right is a modern 12 or 13 storey rectangular block of flats. A tree-lined promenade faces Botafogo Bay and on the far side of the bay to the left of centre of the picture is the Universidade Do Brasil, situated between Morro Da Urca on the left and Babylonia Hill of the right. Large advertisements are displayed at the foot of the hill including 'Pneus Firestone', 'Gessy Sabonete', 'Cury' and 'Radio Philco'.
