A tree-lined promenade faces the cove and on the left of the picture is the Museu de Ciências da Terra (Museum of Earth Sciences) and the Universidade Do Brasil. On the far side of the cove is the Church of the Immaculate Conception (Imaculada Conceicao), the adjoining College and a modern 12 or 13 storey rectangular block of flats.
