The harbour and Castle Hill at Townsville, Queensland, Australia. In the foreground is a cargo shed owned by Burns, Philp & Co. Ltd. and it has A.U.S.N. Co. Ltd. painted on the roof (Australasian United Steam Navigation Company Limited). The photographer, an apprentice serving on board the Bank Line cargo vessel Tymeric (1919) which was in port, is looking south-west across the harbour to Castle Hill above the town.
