A view from on board the Great Lakes and ocean cargo vessel Fort Chambly (1961) alongside a wharf in Montreal, Canada

On board the Great Lakes and ocean cargo vessel Fort Chambly (1961) alongside a wharf in Montreal, Canada. The photographer is looking forward from the port bridge wing showing the snow covered deck and three of the vessel's cranes stationed on the centre line. The river appears to have frozen over. A bulk carrier is moored alongside grain elevators at the quay off the port side of the ship. This is Slide 13 of Captain Henry P. Bird's lecture titled "Fort Chambly (1977)", about his service as Second Officer on board the Fort Chambly (1961) from Sapele, Nigeria, to Montreal, Canada, 28 November 1977 to 4 January 1978. The lecture consists of 18 slides.
