A view from on board the Great Lakes and ocean cargo vessel Fort Chambly (1961) showing piles of rock salt on the quayside in Montreal, Canada. The photographer is looking from the starboard side of Fort Chambly that is berthed alongside a wharf in Montreal, Canada. A large mound of rock salt is being worked by two yellow, four-wheel drive bucket loaders, one of which is a Trojan Industries loader, and a red lorry. A metal circular storage tank and a railway yard with two 40 feet red containers on flat bed trucks are in the background with buildings beyond the railway. This is Slide 14 of Captain Henry P. Bird's lecture titled "Fort Chambly (1977)", about his service as Second Officer on board the Fort Chambly (1961) from Sapele, Nigeria, to Montreal, Canada, 28 November 1977 to 4 January 1978. The lecture consists of 18 slides.
