A partial view of a shop front for a Buddhist Centre in the Motomachi shopping street in Kobe, Japan

A partial view of the shop front for a Buddhist Centre in the Motomachi shopping street in Kobe, Japan. The photographer is standing slightly to the left of the shop window. The shop front consists of a black lacquered wood cabinet containing a shrine to the Buddhist faith. A gold coloured pillar with hanging gold coloured decorations is on the right hand side of the image. A black statue, presumably of the Buddha, is upright on the floor of the shop in front of the pillar. This is Slide 3 of a series of slides detailing Captain H. Bird's service as Second Officer on board the motor bulk carrier Wilkawa (1964) owned by Sir William Reardon Smith & Sons Ltd of Cardiff, from 17 May 1970 to 26 November 1970. This series consists of 83 slides.
