The Royal Naval Exhibition at the Royal Hospital, Chelsea, London in 1891
The Royal Naval Exhibition at the Royal Hospital, Chelsea, ran from 2 May to 24 October 1891. This is in the Franklin Gallery in the main exhibition building and shows the Arctic sledging tableau. Portraits of Arctic explorers are on the wall on either side of Stephen Pearce's painting titled 'The Arctic Council'. Franklin relics are in the cases below the paintings. The entrance to the Nelson Art Gallery is in the background. A copy negative produced by the NMM Studio of a mounted photographic print contained in Photograph Album No. ALB1386.
