The Royal Naval Exhibition at the Royal Hospital, Chelsea, London in 1891
The Royal Naval Exhibition at the Royal Hospital, Chelsea, ran from 2 May to 24 October 1891. This is a large display case in the Blake Gallery in the main exhibition building. It is case number 6 and contains a collection of silver-gilt models of ships lent by the Duke of Edinburgh. The large oil painting behind the case is listed as the 'Embarkation of Catherine of Braganza' at Lisbon in the ship Royal Charles attibuted by Lingelbach. A copy negative produced by the NMM Studio of a mounted photographic print contained in Photograph Album No. ALB1386.
