The Royal Naval Exhibition at the Royal Hospital, Chelsea, London in 1891
The Royal Naval Exhibition at the Royal Hospital, Chelsea, ran from 2 May to 24 October 1891. This is inside the Nelson Gallery in the main exhibition building, looking back towards the Franklin Gallery. Paintings are displayed on the walls and on titled transverse central screens. The large portrait on the Dundonald screen is Caton Woodville's portrait of Commander Wyatt Rawson at Tel-el-Kebir. On the Duckworth screen is Sufia's painting 'Running the Gauntlet in the Nile between Metemneh and Khartoum. A copy negative produced by the NMM Studio of a mounted photographic print contained in Photograph Album No. ALB1386.
