The Alexander Noble & Sons Ltd boatyard at Girvan, Ayrshire.

A general view of the boatyard of Alexander Noble & Sons Ltd at Girvan, looking north-west from the bank of the Water of Girvan near Bridge Street. There are three motor fishing vessels on slips outside the main buildings. The Margaret (1948) BA.17 in the foreground and seen from just aft of her port beam, is having a large section of her hull replanked and may be having collision damage repairs. Next to her is an unidentified Ballantrae vessel. Furthest away from the camera is the brand new Silver Quest (1967) dressed overall and waiting to be launched for the first time. She is seen from off her port beam and her port registration is BA.302. A colour negative.
