A Crompton & Co searchlight projector in the Electrical Engineer's factory in Portsmouth Dockyard. The projector is elevated to about 85° and is viewed from the right side. In the centre is a cover marked Searchlight Control Elevation Receiver, to the left of it is a Searchlight Control Resistance Box and to the right is a handwheel with direction arrows marking Elevate and Depress. Below the centre control is a terminal box marked Evershed & Vignoles Ltd, Londo,. R264A, No. 144035. At the bottom is anorth Searchlight Control Resistance Box. Vertical format.
