Bomb splinter damage in the propeller pound in Portsmouth Dockyard, Hampshire
Looking across part of the propeller pound near No. 13 Dry Dock in Portsmouth Dockyard showing shrapnel and splinter damage to the propellers caused by a bomb blast on the night of 10-11 Mar. 1941. The nearest propeller has Heemskerck R. Hand painted on it. In the background is the accommodation ship Mecklenburg (1922) which was also damaged by the bomb blast.
