The construction of a new caisson for Singapore's King George VI Dry Dock in A Lock, Portsmouth Dockyard. The photographer is looking at the upper part of one end of the caisson from the south side centre of the top of the lock. The draught marks go up to 50 feet. The scotch crane on the north side of the lock has been dismantled.
