Life saving trials in the sea at Portsmouth, Hampshire

A slightly distant view of a man wearing a lifejacket in the water at Portsmouth. He is attached to a light line. The Portsmouth Dockyard negative register refers to the negative as "life saving trials on M.F.V." It is not known if these trials took place inside or outside the harbour. The lifejacket appears to be of a different type to that shown in negative number N26969.
