Portrait of a French two-decker

A French two-decker viewed from the starboard bow. The browsprit, spritsail and spritsail topmast are shown. The figurehead is a lion.

One of seven drawings of French ships made probably in June and July 1673 when van de Velde visited the fleet refitting after the first battle of Schoonveld, 28 May 1673. All (except PAH3896) are drawn in isometric perspective.
