Badge and Star: Order of the North Star, 2nd class

Swedish Order of the Pole Star (or North Star). Neck badge and ribbon awarded to George Biddell Airy. Badge: Eight pointed, gold rimmed, white enamel cross, with a gold ball on each point. Between each arm of the cross is a gold crown. The centre medallion is blue, bearing a white five pointed star. Legend: 'NESCIT OCCASUM' (it nevers sets). The badge is suspended from a gold crown on a black moire ribbon.
