Counter poise
Lead filled brass counterweight, made and fitted to H1, almost certainly in the autumn of 1932 to replace a missing one. This was then cut off, with part of Harrison’s original counterweight arm, during either the 1952 or the 1961 restorations carried out at Herstmonceux, presumably because it was of insufficient mass.
