Presentation Sword Scabbard
The scabbard is WPN1623.1. Presentation sword which belonged to Lieutenant William Duffy. Copper gilt hilt decorated with leaves and scales. Lion's head mask pommel and langets engraved with head of George III. Curved blade with blued and gilt decoration with inscription. Gilt brass scabbard. The blade is inscribed 'FROM THE MIDSHIPMEN OF HM SHIP MADAGASCAR TO LIEUT. Wm DUFFY AS A TOKEN OF ESTEEM AND REGARD'.
