Medal commemorating the Spanish defeat at Dunkirk, 1658. Obverse: Youthful head of King Louis XIV but older than in preceding (right). Legend: 'LUDOVICUS XIIII . REX . CHRISTIANISS .' Reverse: A winged Victory with a caduceus in her right hand and a spear in her left, standing over three prostrate figures. Legend: 'VICTORIA PACIFERA.' (Peace-bearing Victory). Exergue: 'HISPANIS CAESIS AD DUNQUERCAM . M DC . LVIII.' (The Spaniards defeated near Dunkirk, 1658.)
