Reverse: A local man (right) standing looking with astonishment at a prostrate man bound to a naval trophy; Fame flying above holding a wreath and trumpet in either hand. Legend: 'COLONIA FRANCORUM AMERICANA VICTRIX.' (The French colony victorious in America.) Exergue: 'BATAVIS AD MARTINICAM CAESIS AC FVGATIS . M . DC . LXXIIII.' (The Dutch beaten and driven off from the Island of Martinique.)
