Irish halfpenny copper token. Obverse: The figure of Hope, a scarf in her left hand, leaning on an anchor. Legend: 'IRISH HALFPENNY.' Exergue: '1795'. Reverse: Starboard broadside view of a full-rigged ship under sail, crossed laurel branches below. A variety of MEC1725. Legend: 'NAVIGATION AND TRADE.' Inscribed on edge: 'PAYABLE IN DUBLIN, CORK AND BELFAST'.
