The sinking of 'U.41' by Q-ship 'Baralong', 1915
        
        Medal struck by the German artist Karl Goetz to denounce the controversial sinking of 'U.41' by Q-ship 'Baralong' in 1915 (the Q-ship continued to fly American colours). One of the German survivors reported that 'Baralong' had run down his lifeboat.   Obverse: A fist rising out of the sea pointing at the white ensign with 'U', '4' and '1' placed each in the three empty squares of the flag. Legend: 'ALBIONS EHREN - FLAGGE.' (Albion's Flag of Honour.) Reverse: Two men in a boat armed with guns and carrying a sail, one pointing a revolver at a man in the water. Legend: '24 . SEPTEMBER.'
