Jug

A brown glazed earthenware jug, transfer-printed in yellow with a scrolling foliage design. On one side is a circular medallion portrait of Vice-Admiral Horatio Nelson (1758-1805) inscribed 'ENGLAND EXPECTS EVERY MAN WILL DO HIS DUTY. ADML LD. NELSON' ships in the background. On the other side is a matching picture of Vice-Admiral Cuthbert Collingwood (1750-1810) inscribed 'ADML. LD COLLINGWOOD'. Under the lip, a warship under sail with the inscription 'OFF TRAFALGAR OCTR 21 1805 VICTORY'. The neck, inner rim and handle are patterned with flowers.
