Jug
        
        Earthenware jug transfer-printed in brown with an overall design of scrolling foliage and flowers. On one side an oval portrait of Vice-Admiral Horatio Nelson (1758-1805) with short curly hair within the inscription 'ENGLAND EXPECTS EVERYMAN WILL DO HIS DUTY', 'ADML L' NELSON'. On the other  side, Vice-Admiral Cuthbert Collingwood (1750-1810), also with short hair inscribed 'ADML LD COLLING[W]OOD'. Below the  lip 'HMS Victory' under sail, inscribed  'VICTORY', 'OFF TRAFALGAR OCTR 21 1805'. The jug has borders of flowers inside and out and has a painted ochre rim.
