Bowl

Creamware bowl, transfer-printed in black with a ship under sail, bow to the left, wearing an ensign and a swallow-tailed pennant, small figures are visible on deck. Inscribed below the ship 'SUCCESS TO THE PROSPERITY I 1787 S.' Naval trophies are shown below the sea. There are six flower sprays round the inside border of the bowl. On the outside are four transfers: Neptune and Amphitrite in their respective sea chariots, and two pastoral scenes with a shepherdess and companion.
