A creamware jug transfer-printed in black, with some hand colouring in red, yellow and green and some painted decoration in black. One one side is a coat of arms similar to that of of Vice-Admiral Horatio Nelson (1758-1805), in particular the supporters, the chief of the shield, Order of the Bath and mottoes 'PALMAM QUI MERUIT FERAT' and 'TRIA JUNCTA IN UNA' (sic). The shield, however, is a chevron with three fleur-de-lis and the crest is a naval crown with three plumes. On the other side is a snow wearing a post-1801 red ensign. The monogram 'ML' is painted below the lip within a printed floral border of barley, hops, barrels and a newspaper entitled 'THE SUN'.
