Jug

Pratt ware jug moulded in relief with profiles representing Vice-Admiral Horatio Nelson (1758-1805) and Rear-Admiral Sir Edward Berry (1768-1831). The figure inscribed 'Admiral Nelson' is facing left to the left of the handle. Berry is on the other side, facing right, inscribed 'Caplam (sic) Berry'. They have blue coats with yellow lace, brown and yellow hats and ochre order ribbons. The inscriptions are moulded on the neck and painted in blue. In the background, the sea is painted in green and ochre stripes with a ship on either side of each portrait with blue and orange sails. The jug has a brown rim and its handle is missing. Berry was Nelson's Flag Captain at the Battle of the Nile.
